Hopefully I will be tracking vocals today.
i-dont-give-adam-deactivated201 asked: Any idea what the setlist for the Kerrang! tour will look like?
jackiedrinkscoffee asked: Hey, all your shows with man o are all-ages, right?
maia-speaks asked: Any chance of hearing "New years with Carl Weathers" on your next US tour?
mynameisgez asked: Are you guys planning on doing a headline run of the UK this year? Also, The Upsides was my favourite record from last year and I am really excited to hear the new stuff! Hope all is well dude.
hammerhands asked: Hey man! Tattoo dude here again. I'm actually doing an article on the music industry's decline and uprise (in some senses) for my high school's newspaper, and it'd be an honor to get your opinion, now that you guys are on a bigger label, on how the industry is doing as a whole, basically the pros and cons as a struggling band to get heard while being able to make a living. Any...
yourjohncusack-deactivated20110 asked: Hey, I just wanted to say thank you so much for The Upsides.
It means a lot to me.
I'm anxiously awaiting the new record and seeing you guys on warped.

As well as The Wonder Years doing a song on this, I also recorded a Matt Brasch full-band solo track for it. I’m just waiting for the mix.

could you make this show epic?
could you make this show epic?
hammerhands asked: Hey, I'm getting 'Head Above Water' tattooed on my lower-right calf with your guys bird logo right above it. This is going to be my only tattoo, as it means so much to me & my youth. Is there any possible way you could send me a bigger version of the logo rather than me printing out a picture of the hoodie? Thanks so much, dude, looking forward to the new album.

Two and a half days and five packs of guitar strings later, I finished my guitar tracks on Friday.
Soupy and Casey are now trading back and forth on tracking. So excited to hear the tracks with more things on them!
Today I went for a run for the first time in a while and it was the most awful thing ever. I thought I was going to puke. John dusted me to the beach. John and I are going to get...

January 15, 2011 @ 7:44PM in South CA - Casey and Nick nerding out on their computers in the lounge of the studio.
January 18, 2011 @ 12:06AM in Hollywood, CA - Saw Steel Panther at the House of Blues for Soupy’s birthday. They were wildly offensive and I love every minute of it. Saw so many boobs. Got to see most of the Hopeless Records staff as well as a couple of the Tonight Alive...
patfarley asked: I hate how people bitch and moan about where you play like it is your fault. Do they not understand what booking agents do? Sorry, I'm just angry. Take care of my Daddy John Ryan while in CA. LI love going out to you guys.

I start tracking guitar in a little bit! Steve is setting up mics at the time. I’m very excited.
fuckyeahpop-punk asked: Hey dude. Super bummed that neither of the upcoming TWY tours are coming to the Pacific North West. Hopefully I'll be in Bakersfield for the tour with Living With Lions and Fireworks. But seriously, plan more tours into the PNW!

After much hard work from Kennedy the drum tracks are now complete. I start recording guitar tracks tomorrow!
Today I went to the beach and enjoyed the sun while I talked on my phone for a while. I then went out to eat at Mit Asie with John and Jill. That place has such amazing vegetarian food. I think we are going to have an ice cream sundae party tonight! So excited!

cuttingmylosses asked: Beyond stoked to hang in a couple of weeks.

mattfoundglory asked: I just checked the website for Chain Reaction and it says on April 23rd that Fireworks, Such Gold, Make Do And Mend, Living With Lions, and Goldenstate Kings are playing. I was wondering if you guys are going to be playing this show because it's sort of in the middle of the Manscout Jamboree tour. I really hope you guys play this show.
laurafoxy asked: Are you guys playing any headline shows other than K! Tour when you're in Ireland next month?
potemkincitylimits-deactivated2 asked: How recording going, my friend?

Yesterday we got all the drum tones and got everyone set up to track scratch tracks along with Kennedy. It was a long day but in the end it will pay off for sure. The drum tones sound out of this world good. So excited!

shinjibaka asked: Can you post a picture of the shirt with Sayid Jarrah on it? Someone told me about that shirt and i was so bummed that I couldnt make it to a show to pick up. I would like to see what it looks like.

The second day of pre-production went even better than the first. The first half of the record is complete as far as songs go and I love the way it sounds. We are leaving in an hour to go practice and work with Steve on pre-production.

First day of pre-production with Steve went great. We are definitely off to a good start and hopefully today was a good indicator of the vibe for the rest of the process. After 6 hours of work we went to Dave Shapiro and Eric Tobin’s house for a BBQ. Some of our family at Hopeless Records and Tonight Alive were there. The food was great. Apparently Tobin is a master chef?

Yesterday was unreal.
1) We started off our day meeting Forrest Kline of Hellogoodbye. He gave us a few records and some odds and ends as gifts. What a sweet dude.
2) We moved into our new house in CA. It is absolutely unreal and the landlords rule. They are an older retired couple and they seem very hip and in with the times. I couldn’t be happier. The next month is going to be great.
3)...
The show at the Chain Reaction last night was amazing (minus it being the hottest show I’ve ever played in my life). Thanks everyone for coming to hang out.
everydaymisconceptions-deactiva asked: can you guys please play transitions in tampa florida that would be amazing

The journey from coast to coast has been pretty damn good so far. We have spent like 35 hours in the van now and have like 20 to go or something along those lines. I have been spending all of my time driving, reading Eric Clapton’s autobiography, playing solitare on my iPod, listening to music, watching movies and eating. Though it is a little boring the drive is not nearly as painful as I...
