Are you and the band going to hang at the merch table after shows? I wanna meet you guys!
I’m sure we will all be hanging around the venues. I don’t usually make it to the merch table at the end of the night because I’m packing up/breaking down gear. I do try to hang there during the show or just walk around the venue and watch bands. Come say hi if you see me.
I Call Fives recently recorded their new EP, Someone That’s Not You, in Lancaster, PA with producer Kory Gable. The EP will be the band’s first release on Pure Noise Records, and PropertyOfZack was lucky enough to have Matt Brasch from The Wonder Years document the process for a new Behind The Booth feature. Pre-order the EP here and check out the studio footage below by clicking “Read More!”
Thanks everyone for coming out tonight to see us in New Haven, CT. Besides Casting Call not being allowed to play their record release show, the show was a lot of fun. I’m excited for the Glamour Kills tour. I can’t wait to be back out on the road and playing in a different city every night.
We thought it’d be cool to play some rarer stuff on the Glamour Kills tour but we couldn’t decide on which songs to play, so below are two polls we’d like to invite you participate in. Let us know which b-side and which older song you’d like to hear:
I always have very obscure dreams and last night you were in one. A touring band happened to be staying at my friends house where I was also staying, and you happened to be tagging along with them. You didn't really talk to anyone and just sat on the couch a lot. I think something really exciting happened, but I do not remember it because in my next dream I was getting chased and a boat I was on exploded. But I just had to share that with you.
That actually sounds pretty accurate. I probably would sit on the couch and not talk much. I don’t really talk much unless I’m really comfortable with someone. I’m kind of a social weirdo.
Do you guys already have studio time scheduled anywhere or are you waiting till next year to record?
We will be putting out something this year but not a full-length. We are doing an into it. over it. cover on the Glamour Kills tour split and we will be releasing another song late in 2012 on a split. We have no time scheduled to record a full-length and we have no songs written for it yet.
Dude! How have you been? Can't wait to see you guys on March 10th at the matinee. It's gonna be a sick show, as always! I recently picked up the silver version of the Fender Blacktop Jaguar. I freakin love it. I have a question for you. Is there anyway we can meet the day of that show? It would great to finally meet you bro!
Hey, I’ve been great. I’m just enjoying my last few weeks home. I am also excited for the 10th and the whole tour all together. I wish I could meet up before the show but since we are playing 2 shows in one day I don’t think I’m really going to have any free time other than to eat. It’s going to be a hectic day. I will, however, be walking around during the show and hanging out by merch so come say hi if you see me.
Dude your voice is awesome. From your entire song on the Christmas compilation to your small part in the chorus of Came Out Swinging. Nothing against Dan at all, but it would be rad to hear you sing more!
Thanks, man. I hope I sing a bunch on whatever recordings we put out next.
you're welcome man. i drove 2 hours, so it wasn't quite as long as you guys, haha. but it was one hell of a show, and it was my first time seeing you guys. i think it was a great first time. i'll be seeing you again in detroit on the GK tour! words can not describe how incredibly excited i am for that. thank you for doing what you guys do.
Thanks for driving out. It will be a great time. I’m very excited for the whole tour.
Yo Matt do you like Brand New? And also check out Still Alive Clothing I'm on the street team for. Its run by this guy Gage who is super chill. From Joe. P.S. Stoked for the GK Tour New York date.(Its On My Birthday)
I only really listen to Brand New’s “Your Favorite Weapon” and “Deja Entendu.” I’m not a huge fan of there newer stuff though I want to give it another chance soon since I haven’t listened to “The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me” or “Daisy” in a while. Send me a link to the Clothing site. I think I’ve been hit up by them a while ago but send the link over and I’ll check it.
What would it take for me to be able to buy you guys a pizza or something after the glamour kills show in boston on march 12th?
It really all depends on how hectic the night is. We usually have to load out right away so we can’t leave the show after we are finished playing. We will probably be walking around at the venue that night though so if you see me/us come say what’s up. Who knows though. I don’t know if we are staying in MA that night or moving on yet.
did you have fun playing with major league? was def cool to see you playing with em... any chance of a tour together ever?
I had an amazing time playing with those guys. It was such a great experience to be able to drum for them for a few practice and a show. They are really nice people and are the coolest dudes to talk to. Major League is a band that gets it and works hard. There are no talks of a tour or anything but who knows. Anything is possible.
How are you guys so good at what you do? Like you guys seem so passionate and you actually care but you're not like."Hey guys we're obvs the best band ever so you should come to our shows(then again not that we care, cause.you're still buying our merch anyways.)" okay sorry fangirl moment over haha.
Haha. I don’t know. We just do what we do. Thanks for thinking we are good. I personally think I suck at singing and am a mediocre guitar player. We are definitely passionate about what we do. We pour our souls into this band and want take it as far as it can go. There is nothing else right now that I want to be doing more.
i dont know if you'll remember this, but about a year ago you guys played a show in indianapolis in a church basement, and i think it was on the way home from a tour you were on. i just wanted to say that it was hands down the best show i've been to.
I do remember that show. There was snow on the ground and blood in the snow by the load-in doors. One of the guys in one of the other bands played the same explorer that I have. Thanks for coming. I can’t remember how we played but I remember it being a good time.
Hey Matt, a writer of mine is working on a "Boys vs. Girls" column for her school's yearbook and is looking for musicians to take part in the question of which gender is better. Do you think this is something you'd be interested in? If so, if you could email me at my personal email (loganwhite@live. com), it'd be awesome to get something set up! Thanks for your time!
Both genders are equal. I stand by that statement.
I have two questions. First off, are you planning on filming the Suburbia show in Chicago? I'm sure I'm not the only fan who would love to see the entire album played live. Secondly, are you guys still planning on doing a split with Stay Ahead of the Weather? Thanks so much for being awesome and answering fan questions. Knowing that your favorite band cares about their fans is so awesome.
Ideally I would love to film it. It really just depends on whether I have enough time to set my stuff up and whether there is somewhere safe I can put my stuff where it won’t get either broken or stolen. We may or may not being doing a split with SAOTW (-; It’s not problem. I don’t mind answering questions as long as they aren’t about super personal stuff.
